This VW T3 insect screen is designed to fit easily beneath the rear-door weather seal without drilling, gluing or any other permanent modification to the vehicle. It provides reliable protection from mosquitoes, flies and other unwanted insects.

The mesh is fine enough to help keep even small insects out, yet strong enough for repeated use and outdoor conditions. This means you can turn on the lights inside the vehicle after sunset without immediately attracting insects into the interior.

The mesh also allows you to see out, so the view is not significantly restricted whether you are in a car park, at a campsite or surrounded by nature. It is particularly useful for people sleeping in the vehicle or parents who want to keep the vehicle ventilated while children are sleeping inside.

Installation:

1. Loosen the weather seal: In most cases, no special tools are required to loosen the weather seal and it can be removed by hand. If it remains tight, use a flat-blade screwdriver or plastic trim tool. Work carefully and gradually loosen the seal around the door opening.

2. Install the insect screen: Position the insect screen where you want it to sit. Start at one corner and gradually tuck the edge of the mesh beneath the weather seal. (Using the stapler supplied with the screen, you can temporarily secure the mesh in several places. This makes installation easier and keeps the mesh in position even before the seal is refitted.) Use your fingers to press the mesh gently beneath the seal so it is held firmly in place.

3. Check and adjust: Once the entire screen is installed, inspect the full perimeter and make sure the mesh is evenly spread and free from folds. Adjust as needed for the best fit.

4. Check operation: Open and close the door to verify that the insect screen does not interfere with normal operation and remains securely in place.

5. Final trim: Finally, check once more that the screen is tensioned correctly. If so, trim away any excess mesh outside the seal.

After completing these steps, your insect screen should be securely fitted and ready for use.

Installation takes approximately 10 minutes and can easily be completed by one person.
